Non-explosive demolition method for pile head treatment

Aiming to eliminate excessive labor accompanied by noise and vibration, non-explosive demolition agents are applied to pile head treatment.

The non-explosive demolition agent method for pile head treatment involves loading a non-explosive demolition agent into holes drilled from the outer surface of the pile towards its center, and igniting it to instantaneously crush the concrete, forming a horizontal fracture surface, thereby separating the main body of the pile from the excess portion. The excess portion can be removed as consolidated fragments using a crane or similar equipment. The chipping work involved in pile head treatment is an extremely demanding task for workers, as they are subjected to strong noise, vibration, and dust at close range. In the construction sector, where there is a shortage of workers, the non-explosive demolition agent method for pile head treatment is a technology that contributes to the preservation of the surrounding environment as well as the improvement of the working conditions. The non-explosive demolition agent undergoes a redox reaction known as the thermite reaction, which crushes the material through instantaneous steam expansion pressure. The reaction rate is about 1/25 that of explosives, and since it does not generate shock waves, it can separate the excess portion without damaging the main body of the pile. Tests on the concrete compressive strength of the main body of the pile and tensile tests on the rebar have confirmed that there is no reduction in strength, and that both the concrete and rebar are intact.
